Standard NDT Services

Non-destructive testing examines pipeline materials and components without causing them any permanent damage. It is valuable for detecting defects and flaws that may be invisible to the naked eye, such as cracks, porosity, and corrosion. This helps ensure the safety and reliability of products and structures and reduces the risk of failure and costly repairs. Circle B Non-Destructive Examination utilizes the latest effective and reliable Standard NDT Testing Services, including ultrasonic testing, magnetic particle testing, environment and cathodic measurement, coating inspection, and welding inspection.

Ultrasonic Testing

Standard Non-Destructive (NDT) Ultrasonic Testing uses sound wave technology to measure material thickness and detect minute flaws or defects from corrosion, aging, or damage. Circle B NDE utilizes traditional shear wave, straight beam, and Full Matrix Capture and Total Focusing Method (FAST) Ultrasonic Testing to ensure pipeline integrity and safety.

Magnetic Particle Testing

Non-Destructive (NDT) Magnetic Particle Testing applies a magnetic field and magnetic particles to ferromagnetic pipeline materials to detect flaws, defects, weaknesses, or damage that compromises the pipeline’s integrity. The magnetic particles are drawn to areas with flux leakage, indicating the areas needing attention.

Environment and Cathodic Measurement

This form of testing evaluates buried pipelines and the surrounding soil to determine potential problems or detect leaks or damage. Circle B NDE incorporates four methods of Environment and Cathodic Measurement: Pipe-to-Soil Potential to detect and mitigate corrosion from surrounding soil; Soil pH testing measures acidity or alkalinity to determine the corrosiveness of the soil; Soil Resistivity measures soil’s ability to resist electrical current flow; and Microbial-induced corrosion (MIC) collects and analyzes pipeline samples to detect the presence of microorganisms that can cause corrosion.

Coating Inspection

A Coating Inspection examines and measures various properties of a protective pipeline coating that is used to prevent corrosion. Circle B NDE gauges the coating’s thickness, adherence to the pipe material, and other properties to determine if they meet industry standards for superior protection against environmental factors and corrosion.

Welding Inspection

Pipeline Welding Inspections evaluate every welded joint and seam to detect imperfections or damage that could compromise pipeline integrity. Circle B NDE uses various NDT techniques to ensure structural integrity and safety, including radiographic, ultrasonic, and magnetic particle testing.
